I stopped in today because I worked for the original Farm Fresh company in the pharmacy. Walking in her was so nostalgic to been. The company closed in 2018. All the old sign and artwork are still up. They even use the Farm Fresh bags. While there, I bought 6 live blue crabs that I pick out my self. I made sure they each had a hefty weight. THEY WERE AMAZING! They steam them for you as well. Omg. I'm definitely going back to get more next week when I visit my son and his family.

Farm Fresh International Foods (full name) sits in a shopping center between Jefferson Avenue and Route 64 in northwestern Newport News. It is a large store dedicated to foods from around the planet that can be shipped to Virginia for sale. Lots of Asian, Central & South American and even African packaged goods in the many aisles. Very neat and it took us by surprise that this corner of Virginia was able to support such a retail establishment without a large urban core drawing people to reside here. Yet, it was well stocked and equally well maintained. We were there after a string of other stops searching for an Indonesian coffee candy we had enjoyed the night before at an excellent Thai kitchen nearby. We asked the owner where her restaurant had purchased the Kopiko. She described where they found it, but didn't remember the name of the big store. We finally found it at Farm Fresh. The price was compellingly low, and we ended up putting their entire shelf inventory into our cart (more than 20 bags), with the intention of giving them to friends as small gifts. Then we happened down the tea aisle and found Jasmin/Green Tea from Sri Lanka and grabbed a couple of boxes for home use. This international market is better (and cleaner) than anything we have around Philadelphia. Good to know, as with family nearby, we can make return visits at least once a year for further exploration.

A lot of options and basically has everything you need. But because there's a lot of options I don't think they can keep up with inventory because some meat I bought was a year expired. They quickly gave me a refund though.

We came here for HotPot ingredients and Asian grocery. They had it all! Fully stocked! The store is clean and the staff are helpful. They also sell ice to store the meats. We will be back!

Don't let the name fool you! This is a legit Asian supermarket with a great variety of meats, seafood, vegetables, snacks, noodles from around Asia and rice cookers. I've never seen so many varieties of rice in large sacks. What a great store. They sold thin sliced pork belly, rib eye and beef for Shabu Shabu. We enjoyed cruising every single aisle. I bought my first Korean Melon here.

I'm totally mad. I want to know why no one every told me about this Farm Fresh international store. It is freaking fantastic. It is ABSOLUTLY the BEST grocery store I have ever been in. Half the store is Asian produce and stuff. From dry goods to dishes and cooking stuff. It is the best Asian market I have been too. We found it by accident. We were hiking close by and I happen to look up boba tea places and there is a MOCHI & MOCHI place inside that we were going to and started looking around and noticed this place is the greatest. I bought all kinds of stuff for my family and especially my nieces birthday. She is going to go wild over these unique items. We live an hour away but I'm adding this to my shopping when I need my hard to find international items. They had an entire isle of Saki. I'm telling you this place is amazing.

I was impressed with the variety of international foods at Farm Fresh. However, Asian foods is the primary highlights of the store having aaa dedicated section just for different sacks of rice. As I walked in the store, I was greeted with fruits and vegetables. The produce seems fresh and well stocked. My observation suggest that this store is phasing out the original farm fresh brands into a more international food store. The layout seems disorganized; for example, sacks of rice are laid out throughout the store. From fresh produce to frozen goodies you can find nearly everything and anything under the sun here. Another great example is finding an actual sugar cane. Great selection of woks, pots, pans, and utensils. This will be one of my go to store for international ingredients.

I have always passed by this place and only have recently discovered it for the gold mind that it is. I have visited some of the other international markets in the area but they are all smaller and have less variety than Farm Fresh. Farm Fresh has a mix of international food and American brands. I have seen lots of Korean, Thai, Filipino, Japanese items, as well as some Mexican ingredients. When you walk in there is a large produce section including some hard to find items like durian. There is also a bakery, large seafood counter, and butcher all in the store. I definitely want to try some of the fresh fish soon. Moving on in the store I was super impressed with the two aisles of noodles they had. I got pancit bihon noodles I needed and another case of the shin ramen we love in our house. I also browsed the sauce aisle a bit while grabbing oyster sauce and got excited to see the variety in brands and types of sauces. I then went to the frozen section and browsed the selection of dumplings before deciding on the goyza I wanted. Overall the prices are pretty fair considering the variety of products and that some are imported. I can already tell that Farm Fresh runs are going to be a frequent occurrence in 2021.
